Who can use the Student Digital Kitbag?
The Kitbag is aimed at Coventry University Group students, however anyone else is also welcome to use it. Some of the apps mentioned need a licence. Coventry University Group students are provided with these licences as part of their course, so if you are not a student with us you may need to get your own licence.
How does it work?
Each item includes an introduction, some reading material or a video to watch, and a task to complete. The tasks are intended to not take up much of your time and are designed to encourage you to try out a new thing or explore some digital practice in a new way.
What do I need to do?
You can work through the Kitbag’s items at your own speed. We have tried to put them in a logical order, with the things you will need sooner near the beginning. Of course if you want to do them in a different order, or skip items that you are already confident with, then that is fine too.
We suggest spending some time working on this each week, maybe doing 2 items per week. But you can be more ambitious!
Will there be a certificate or prize?
Sadly not. But you do get the personal satisfaction of knowing that you have built up & expanded your digital & professional skills!
What if I need help?
If you are a student in the Coventry University Group & are having trouble with one of the apps provided by the University, then contact IT Support on your campus.
The Coventry University Student Digital Kitbag is inspired by other useful initiatives in the field of digital skills development, especially The University of Edinburgh’s 23 Things for Digital Knowledge and the EduHack course.
